Administrative Office Manager
Full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $70,147.56 - $104,910.72.
About the Role
The Judicial Department works to provide equal access to justice, contribute to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law across Colorado. Together our courts and probation departments are committed to impartial and timely dispute resolution; support for families, litigants, and victims; client rehabilitation; and meaningful community engagement.
This role leads and oversees the unit’s administrative functions, including accounting, budget, human resources, procurement, and contracts. The position may serve on the department’s leadership or management team, participating in both short-term tactical decisions and long-term strategic planning. The role manages vendor and contractor relationships, reviews and approves significant purchases or contracts, and serves as the local HR liaison. It also contributes to the development and communication of administrative policies, rules, and directives, and may act as the primary liaison with the judicial branch administrative offices.
Responsibilities
- Supervises assigned staff, including developing operational schedules, ensuring equal work distribution, and addressing performance or behavior issues.
- Conducts yearly performance evaluations and manages the recruitment process for all staff positions, including onboarding new employees.
- Serves as a liaison between HR and staff regarding Family Medical Leave Act, workers compensation, short-term disability, and other employee policies and procedures.
- Oversees all fiscal support, including processing invoices, reconciling transactions, monitoring district budgets, and procuring supplies.
- Compiles statistical data and analysis to plan and budget.
- Manages vendors and contractors, reviews and verifies contracts, and ensures accurate and timely invoices.
- Provides customer service support to internal and external customers, answering stakeholder questions and concerns.
- Liaises between the District, the State Court Administrator’s Office, and other external organizations.
- Provides oversight for special projects and events, attends meetings and trainings as required, and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Additional work experience in these or other related fields may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in an administrative field.
- Advanced skills and extensive knowledge of work, capable of handling complex tasks and translating complex nuances related to aspects of the job.
- Responsible for functional area financial decisions, ensuring appropriate linkages between budget requests and functional area goals and objectives.
Work Environment
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, with mostly sitting.
