Administrative Manager: Radiology

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital · Memphis, TN · 2 wk ago
Project Management$71k–$127k/yrFull-time

About the role

Radiology at St. Jude isn’t a traditional hospital department; our teams work across clinical care and research in a highly collaborative environment where discoveries can move from bench to bedside, and strong operations help make that work possible. We’re looking for an Administrative Manager who can bring people, processes, and priorities together to help a complex, dynamic department do its best work. This role sits at the center of things: building relationships across specialties, asking the right questions, creating structure where needed, and turning many moving pieces into a clear path forward. You’ll partner closely with departmental leadership and teams across St. Jude, with visibility into both the clinical and research sides of Radiology. You’ll lead key administrative and operational functions for the department, including resource coordination, process improvement, program support, vendor relationships and contracts, and administrative operations. Just as importantly, you’ll help lead the people behind that work — coaching and developing team members, strengthening collaboration, and creating the systems and processes that allow the department to operate effectively. Why this role is different: you don’t need to be a radiology expert; you need to be an excellent operator and people leader energized by complexity. At St. Jude, Radiology sits at a particularly interesting intersection of research and clinical care, offering the opportunity to help shape the operations behind work that spans disciplines, supports both researchers and clinicians, and ultimately contributes to the St. Jude mission.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with departmental leadership and teams across St. Jude, providing visibility into both clinical and research sides of Radiology.
  • Lead key administrative and operational functions: resource coordination, process improvement, program support, vendor relationships and contracts, and administrative operations.
  • Coach and develop team members, strengthen collaboration, and create systems and processes that enable effective department operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience managing administrative activities.
  • Experience exception: Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years experience managing administrative activities.
  • Experience managing communications with cross‑functional leaders and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing people either directly or indirectly.

Skills

  • Strong people leader who knows how to build, coach, and develop a team.
  • Experience managing complex projects, priorities, or operations; able to keep things moving with many stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and sound operational judgment; knows how to ask the right people the right questions and connect the dots.
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and building relationships with people who bring different expertise and perspectives.
  • Sees opportunities to improve processes and has the initiative to act on them.
  • Can create structure, organization, and accountability without losing sight of the people doing the work.

Pay

Salary range: $70,720 – $126,880 per year.
