About the role

The Manager of Radiology oversees the Medical Imaging department, ensuring high-quality care through effective leadership and supervision. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, operating imaging equipment, scheduling staff, and maintaining open communication with healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them appropriately.
• Operates imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient's bones, organs, and tissue.
• Acts as the RSO/IRRP for the facility, demonstrating effective leadership and supervisory skills.
• Schedules Radiologic Technologists to ensure adequate coverage for radiology needs.
• Develops positive relationships with physicians and other referral sources.
• Maintains open and ongoing communications with the Chief Nursing Officer to meet patient, staff, and facility needs.
• Completes necessary requisitions for ordered exams and schedules exams accurately.
• Performs diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic/CT exams, including injecting IV contrast media as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify and diagnose mechanical and electronic equipment failures.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses any questions related to the equipment or procedure.
• Performs RSO duties and adheres to radiation safety protocols.

Requirements

• At least 3 years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and current state license.
• ARRT or CMRT certification.
• BLS certification.
• Current Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.

Qualifications

• Experience operating facility-specific equipment is desirable.
