About the Role

The Manager for Medical Education Administration supports the day-to-day operations of the Department, ensuring staff, faculty, and educational programs are supported efficiently and effectively. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education Administration, this role collaborates with divisional and departmental leaders to execute departmental operations, staffing, training, and administrative initiatives strategically. The Manager serves as a key operational resource, supporting workforce management, employee engagement, onboarding, training, and departmental initiatives, while contributing to the overall success of the Medical Education program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruiting process, sourcing and identifying candidates through job boards, resume databases, professional associations, and networking.
  • Liaise with HR on recruitment, retention, staff development, and employee relations.
  • Manage staff and faculty employee onboarding and separation processes.
  • Advise faculty and managers on best practices in engagement, recruitment, and retention.
  • Manage the in-house employee and faculty training system, including training needs assessment, skills development, and measuring training impact and transfer.
  • Support the implementation of the performance management process, including performance development plans and employee development programs.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean to support employee relations practices that promote a positive employer-employee relationship and high morale.
  • Ensure a safe work environment that supports departmental needs.
  • Stay abreast of policy developments, institutional, national, state, and local labor laws, and best practices.
  • Interpret, administer, and implement policies and procedures.
  • Manage department-wide administrative projects and priorities.
  • Innovate and create new ways to convey complex information to align the department around strategic priorities.
  • Represent the Department of Medical Education within the broader medical school community on staffing, faculty affairs, and engagement.
  • Actively participate in the national landscape of medical education administration, including presenting at meetings and conferences.
  • Complete projects and assigned tasks as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in management and leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership competency and ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies (faculty, staff, students, etc.).
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Initiative to seek alternative approaches and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and understand the big picture.
  • Commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to enforce standards of professionalism and resolve conflicts across a broad spectrum (involving faculty, staff, and student needs).

Pay

The salary range for this role is $78,884 – $118,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
