Main Purpose of Job
To prepare for and conduct administrative hearings, and to issue written and bench decisions for a variety of administrative cases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Eligible candidates must be a lawyer in good standing for at least five years and licensed to practice law in Maryland.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills;
- outstanding analytical skills;
- excellent writing, legal research, computer, and time management skills to successfully perform the duties of an ALJ.

- one (1) writing sample (no longer than 10 pages), preferably written in the past 5 years that displays legal and analytical skills,
- contact information for three (3) professional references, and
- a certificate of Good Standing from the Supreme Court of Maryland obtained no more than 1 year ago.
