ADMINISTRATIVE LAW JUDGE
Position Details
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking an Administrative Law Judge with experience in interpreting and applying various provisions of federal and state statutes, regulations, policies, and case law. The position involves presiding over quasi-judicial hearings, rendering proposed decisions, and completing other assignments under the direction of the Supervising Administrative Law Judge.
Duties
- Preside over quasi-judicial hearings involving the interpretation and application of provisions of the Insurance Code, Administrative Procedures Act, and other applicable statutes and regulations.
- Render proposed decisions based on hearings conducted.
- Complete other assignments under the direction of the Supervising Administrative Law Judge.
Special Requirements
Active membership in the State Bar of California, unless legal authority permits performance of duties while in inactive status; and admissions to practice law in California or any state in the United States or District of Columbia for at least 5 years immediately preceding application for appointment.
