Administrative Intern I
About the role
Under the general direction of a departmental supervisor, this position assists in the administration and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs. The incumbent performs research on departmental issues, disseminates information, develops and prepares documents and reports, and performs related professional and clerical duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs research on departmental concerns; gathers and analyzes data;
- Prepares and updates reports and correspondence;
- Aids in the preparation and submission of grant applications, requests for proposals, and related materials;
- Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures;
- Interprets departmental rules and regulations;
- Communicates with other departments and agencies to gather and disseminate information;
- Develops and maintains departmental databases, records, and documentation;
- Completes, types, copies, and files standardized documents;
- Informs supervisor of policy and procedural activities.
Requirements
Current enrollment or graduation from an accredited junior college or four years university with an associate or bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or closely related field (degree may be in progress); supplemented by one (1) year of experience in providing research and analysis assistance; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
