About the Role
As a member of BakerRipley's Internship program, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking department dedicated to advancing BakerRipley's impact in the Houston region. Reporting to the agency’s administrative-based programs, you will support outreach efforts, program outcomes, administrative duties, and other assigned tasks. The Administrative Internship is for a proactive and resourceful team member who will assist in a diverse array of projects to support the team. This position provides general office support and excellent customer service.
Expected Outcomes
- Ability to work with diverse populations – both internal and external to the agency
- Complete cross-training hours to effectively provide community center assistance and complete licensed required child development training hours as assigned by supervisor
Responsibilities
- Support the Youth Voter Ambassador Program and other youth-related activities by conducting trainings, data entry, and one-to-one mentoring
- Support voter registration drives by registering eligible persons to vote and coordinating such events
- Manage logistics of get out the vote (GOTV) outreach tools for program success
- Work with and manage volunteers during GOTV events
- Support event logistics and the execution of GOTV events
Qualifications
- Current college student (4-year) or Associate’s degree in any field
- Minimum one (1) year of working experience
Skills
- Beginner computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
