Administrative Dispatcher
The purpose of this position is to coordinate recreation center programming and provide support for programs and services. This is accomplished by supervising personnel, developing, implementing and supervising recreation programs, promoting the Recreation Center and its activities and interfacing with other City employees and citizens.
Supervises personnel and contract instructors
- Interviews applicants for open positions
- Counsels employees to correct deficiencies
- Schedules employees for facility operations
- Submits time sheets for payroll
Develops and implements various programs
- Assesses the needs of citizens
- Hires qualified instructors for new programs
- Advises civic organizations and community partners on events
- Coordinates partnership of national/state affiliated programs as well as corporate partnerships
Oversees facility operations
- Addresses and resolves complaints and concerns from the public
- Responds to emergencies when required
- Prepares facilities for programs, rentals and special events
- Ensures the cleanliness of facilities
Maintains the allocation of resources
- Maintains supplies necessary for the operation of the facility
- Orders new supplies and equipment
- Evaluates and recommends budgetary needs for operations
- Creates vendor lists
Education
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience
Over two years up to and including three years of relevant experience. Summer Camp Planning and Supervision Experience Preferred.
Certification and Other Requirements
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License
- CPR/First Aid Certification (within three months of hire)

The City of Allen offers a choice of two PPO Medical Plan options for full-time employees. Vision insurance is included through enrollment in either of these plans. Workers Compensation

Holidays
- Employees receive nine paid holidays per year, including one personal day.
Vacation
- An employee with five or more years of service is eligible to earn 120 hours per year.
Sick Leave
- There is no limit to the amount of sick leave hours accrued.
Retirement
- All full-time employees must participate in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).
- The City of Allen also participates in Social Security.
Deferred Compensation
- The City of Allen offers an optional deferred compensation 457 plan in which employees can contribute a portion of their salary, before taxes, to a retirement account.
Longevity
- Employees who have been with the City of Allen at least a year receive $4 per month for every month worked.
Rotating Weekend and Evening shifts required.
