About the role
Virtually all LaGuardia students are ethnic minorities (89 percent), 58 percent are women, 27 percent are over the age of 25. Forty-six percent of associate degree students are Hispanic. Upon graduation most students transfer to four-year colleges, typically in CUNY, to complete their baccalaureate degrees. Graduates of career programs such as Nursing, Computer Technology, and Veterinary Technology enter the workforce.
Responsibilities
- Follows up with staff and administrators throughout the College, University, and the community to resolve problems;
- Captures data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software;
- Keeps up with changes in college business processes/software;
- Drafts routine correspondence;
- Prepares and coordinates the distribution of staff training materials;
- Assists in monitoring budgets and expenditures;
- Prepares purchase requisitions;
- Formats and prepares statistical reports and related charts and graphs;
- May take dictation and/or transcribes notes, if necessary;
- Assists with special projects and related job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required;
- Two years higher educational experience preferred;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs desirable;
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality customer service in a diverse college;
- Flexible schedule during peak periods.
