About the Role
Texas A&M University's Department of Physics & Astronomy seeks an Administrative Coordinator I to provide comprehensive administrative support to the department. Working under general supervision, this role coordinates and supports a variety of departmental operations and administrative activities, exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance. The position serves as a key resource in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, supporting departmental initiatives, and helping maintain effective administrative processes and services.
Opportunities to Contribute
- Plans, coordinates, and supports administrative operations, activities, and services to ensure efficient office functioning.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves office procedures, services, and processes while ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
- Analyzes programs, projects, and initiatives; monitors progress and timelines; and identifies issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommends and implements process improvements, administrative enhancements, and new initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintains office resources, reference materials, supplies, and equipment to support daily operations.
- Plans, coordinates, and facilitates meetings, seminars, and other special events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Planning and organization skills.

Pay
Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
