About The Opportunity
The College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) combines Northeastern University’s signature approach to experiential learning with liberal arts education, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement, both locally and globally. The College comprises 20 academic units, including two schools, eight departments, and ten interdisciplinary programs, as well as 15 research centers and institutes. Our faculty connects liberal arts education with the challenges of our time, and fosters ethical reasoning and critical thought, with attention to the enduring significance of history, literature, and culture. About The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Scheduling
- Input curriculum for supported unit(s) into the Curriculum Management platform (CourseLeaf or successor system) for fall, spring, and summer semesters
- Ensure timely submission in accordance with college and Registrar deadlines
- Manage curriculum scheduling for Boston and all applicable network campuses
- Collaborate with other units to ensure accurate scheduling of interdisciplinary curriculum
- Enrollment Support
- Track course enrollments using registration software (Banner or any successor) during registration periods
- Communicate enrollment data and updates to relevant units
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean to support enrollment-related requests
- Routinely route incomplete course contracts and individual instruction requests as needed
- Curriculum Maintenance
- Maintain familiarity with department curriculum across supported unit(s)
- Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Student Affairs and the CSSH Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee (UAAC) to update curriculum as needed
- Submit new courses and course revisions through the CourseLeaf CIM module (or successor software) in accordance with college and university deadlines
- Receive, respond to, and redirect curricular queries from the Office of the Registrar and other involved parties as appropriate
- Curriculum Assessment
- Serve as a liaison between units and the Office of Academic Assessment and Review
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Online Teaching and Learning in the Dean's Office to support unit interaction with assessment software (HelioCampus)
- Afford units the opportunity to respond to assessment requests from the university's Office of Academic Assessment and Review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent skills and experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting
- Well organized with the ability to manage multiple demands simultaneously
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Comfortable learning and working across a variety of software platforms
- Solutions-oriented with a willingness to seek answers and share expertise
- Flexible, curious, and able to work iteratively
