Administrative Coordinator
About the role
The Administrative Coordinator (AC) is a registered nurse with demonstrated clinical expertise and supervisory experience. For a specified shift, the AC coordinates and is accountable for the administrative, clinical and ancillary activities within the hospital. The AC acts as the single point of contact for physicians, departments, nursing and administrative management team, to assist in the timely and accurate placement of patients requiring acute care admission, transfers, and all aspects of patient movement and coordination of care. The AC has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to manage the hospital with front line leadership, resource management and short term plan design and implementation to meet needs for delivery of patient care and staff.
Responsibilities
- Holds staff accountable to adhere to standards of practice utilizing The NorthBay Way.
- Utilizes Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model to promote and support a transparent and collaborative environment.
- Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization.
- Ensures compliance with and participates in the hospital’s performance improvement plan and infection control plan both as a resource and through assigned duties.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
- BSN preferred. Minimal nursing degree of BSN level required within four years of hire.
- Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
- Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS. ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years acute care (Hospital) experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Excellent clinical assessment skills.
- Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills in the English language.
- Understands policies governing admissions, unit-specific admissions, observation status and compliance.
- Knowledge of EMTALA regulations.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
- Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
- Excellent critical thinking ability.
- Good problem solving ability and able to make sound decisions rapidly.

Pay
Compensation Structure NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
Schedule
NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs. Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
