What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain accurate settlement disbursement statements.
- Audit and reconcile case expenses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Request, track, and organize lien, medical, and settlement documentation.
- Maintain accurate client and settlement information through detailed data entry.
- Communicate with clients regarding settlement status and respond to routine inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Track documents sent, received, and outstanding while keeping the settlement team informed of progress.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
- Assist with administrative projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Provide general administrative support including document preparation, scanning, filing, and correspondence.
- Ensure deadlines are met while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of administrative experience, preferably within a law firm.
- Prior experience supporting settlement administration in a plaintiff personal injury practice is highly preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive client matters professionally.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with QuickBooks is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
