Administrative Assistant Sr - Surgical Hospital
About the role
The Administrative Assistant Sr supports senior level department heads within assigned areas, supervising other clerical and administrative support staff as needed. This role coordinates the completion of complex projects, providing advanced level departmental administrative support, creating presentations, managing calendars, telephones, records, minutes, correspondence, filing, and faxing.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced level departmental administrative support
- Create PowerPoint presentations
- Maintain calendars, telephones, records, minutes, correspondence, filing, and faxing
- Coordinate the completion of complex projects
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or two years of college required
- Minimum five years of secretarial, clerical or administrative experience required, preferably in healthcare, academic, psychiatric and/or outpatient setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Excellent communication skills
- Operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position
- Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction
- Able to think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; perform basic math functions; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position
- Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire
