About the role
The Administrative Assistant provides analytical and project management support functions to the ShandsCair Administrative leadership team. Anticipates the need for and provides data and information relevant to the assigned work area. Enhances operational and financial performance within the department by exercising independent judgment in the identification of key trends, implementation of problem resolution, and providing recommendations. Performs data collection for project development and/or document generation. Participates in projects related to acquisition, utilization, and distribution of supplies for ShandsCair. Provides administrative support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountability within the department and in collaboration with other departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and project management support to leadership.
- Anticipate data and information needs for the assigned work area.
- Identify key trends, implement problem resolution, and provide recommendations to enhance operational and financial performance.
- Perform data collection for project development and document generation.
- Participate in projects related to acquisition, utilization, and distribution of supplies.
- Exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with diverse teams and departments.
- Manage confidential information with discretion.
- Work independently and for extended periods at a computer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree preferred.
- Two years of past managerial or project management experience.
- Five years of progressively responsible managerial/administrative experience with project task management in a health-related field may substitute for the degree.
- Experience with database management, word processing, and spreadsheet abilities.
- Basic knowledge of general accounting principles, including purchasing/receiving and cost-comparison.
- Demonstrated good technical writing skills and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment using appropriate Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individual personalities.
- Ability to handle confidential information securely.
