Position Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively and courteously when interacting with staff, students, families, and visitors.
- Greets and directs staff, students, families, and visitors.
- Writes memos and emails to communicate with staff, students, families, and visitors.
- Prioritizes tasks and make decisions on behalf of the immediate supervisor.
- Maintains files, folders, and schedules in order so that an office runs efficiently.
- Creates and update spreadsheets.
- Prepares presentations and reports.
- Orders office supplies.
- Answers telephones and takes messages or transfer calls.
- Schedules appointments and updates event calendars.
- Arranges staff meetings.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
- Prepares memos, invoices, or reports.
- Maintains databases and filing systems.
- Performs basic bookkeeping.
- Maintains confidentiality of student and staff records.
- Performs any other related duties when requested by the immediate supervisor.

Position Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office machines/equipment.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Terms Of Employment
- 10-month work year as defined in the AFT/IFT Local 943 collective bargaining agreement.
- Starting wage between $17.00 - $18.70/hour, based on education and verified experience (wages expected to increase by more than 25% with the new collective bargaining agreement in July/August).
- Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) pension.
