Administrative Assistant II for Campus Logistics

Full-time, onsite position supporting the Campus Logistics business office and facilities including Print and Mailing Services, Postal Services, Student Mail Center, and Warehouse Services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational tasks to ensure seamless function of the Campus Logistics business office, including providing high-level customer service to guests, answering phone calls, supervising office cleanliness, submitting work orders, and recording and purchasing inventory.
  • Handle Workday processes such as job postings, transfers, terminations, and other duties upon request.
  • Coordinate communications and scheduling to prevent management oversights.
  • Meet with staff to arrange facility tours and day-of details.
  • Manage departmental email and voicemail inboxes, responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the Transportation office regarding vehicle inspections, renewals, and repairs.
  • Maintain department computer lists and purchase/inventory office supplies.
  • Assist in updating and combining reports from all areas of Campus Logistics.
  • Perform additional administrative tasks and projects as assigned by management.
  • Attend all required Campus Logistics meetings.
  • Create training manuals and onboard new hires for Campus Logistics.
  • Work with budgets and budgeting software.
  • Collaborate with the Director team on strategic planning and monthly reporting.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and performance benchmarks to ensure effective and current communications and office operations.
  • Represent Liberty University professionally, adhering to policies and fostering its Christian mission.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • 1-2 years of experience in this or a related field.
  • Four-year college degree from an accredited university in Business, Communications, or a related field.

  • Communication and Comprehension:
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
    • Strong command of the English language for articulate messaging and correspondence.
    • Public communication skills for professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to reason, analyze information, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems.
  • Physical and Sensory Abilities:
    • May require local travel and movement around campus.
    • Regularly required to sit for desk work, type on a keyboard, hear, and speak for effective communication.
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
    • Ability to handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop.
    • Regularly lift up to 30 pounds.

Driving Requirements

To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.

Working Conditions

  • Climate-controlled, well-lighted, and moderate-noise office environment.
  • Occasional facilitation of outdoor events.

Pay

$18.27 - $21.15 per hour. Compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, University needs, and external market conditions.
