About the role

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and implementation support for designated grant- and contract-funded programs/projects within the Family and Community Medicine department at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate with external entities
  • Prepare itineraries and meeting agendas
  • Schedule appointments
  • Prepare clinical files or training materials
  • Maintain multiple databases, including data collection and entry
  • Gather and compile statistics
  • Participate in outreach and program trainings, which may include travel
  • Ensure compliance with university, local, state, and federal rules regarding responsible conduct of research
  • Perform other various duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education
  • Two years of clerical and administrative support experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Maintaining records and files
    • Preparing materials using a personal computer or word processor
    • Assisting customers in completing forms and applications
    • Performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff
  • OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above

Pay

Grade 25 Step 1, salary $42,636.96. "Step" refers to the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
