About the Role
The Administrative Assistant provides a wide range of support to multiple grant- and contract-funded projects for the School of Medicine, including coordination of medical screening clinics under the supervision of the Senior Grants Specialist, Project Director, and Program Physicians. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining medical records, project databases and spreadsheets (including data entry), assisting participants with eligibility determination when accessing federal compensation, and planning/attending public meetings to disseminate health education and program information. The position requires periodic travel and strict adherence to university, local, state, and federal rules and regulations related to healthcare and responsible conduct of research.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate medical screening clinics for grant- and contract-funded projects.
- Create and maintain medical records, project databases, and spreadsheets.
- Perform data entry and assist participants with eligibility determination for federal compensation.
- Plan and attend public meetings to disseminate health education and program information.
- Adhere to university, local, state, and federal regulations related to healthcare and research.
- Periodic travel as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
- Three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Maintenance of complex records and files.
- Public/customer relations, including explaining detailed policies, regulations, and requirements.
- Preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents (e.g., payroll, travel, claims, budgeting forms).
- Assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
- OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Pay
Grade 27 Step 1, salary $46,207.44. This position is contingent upon funding. Salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1 per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170).
