Description

WCTC is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate administrative professional to join our ever-evolving Business Information Technology Programs department. This position provides administrative support for the Associate Dean of Business Information Technology Programs, its instructional team, and students. These duties and responsibilities often require strong critical thinking skills and involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the department/function to ensure efficient office operations i.e. correspondence, records, reports, calendars, etc.
  • Provide support for the day-to-day activities related to the financial responsibilities of the department re: budget, expense reports, purchasing, etc.
  • Aid in the planning and coordination of on- and off-campus meetings, events, and/or workshops.
  • Support reception functions i.e. answer and screen telephone calls, greet and interact with the public, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.
  • Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Interpersonal communication skills - oral, written, and listening
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to attend closely to detailed work, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with computer software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 2-4 years of general office experience
  • Higher education experience preferred
  • Associate's degree preferred

Supplemental Information

The Administrative Assistant II supports the Business Information Technology department and is full-time, benefit eligible. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Some events throughout the year, such as Open House, may require an adjusted schedule.
