About the role
Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a leading community clinic provider offering a wide array of healthcare services to over 227,000 patients annually. With more than 90 sites across San Diego County, FHCSD serves uninsured, low-income individuals and families, focusing on comprehensive care including adult care, pediatrics, behavioral health, and various specialty services.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a liaison with other departments and internal/external customers (patients, vendors, auditors, inspectors).
- Answers phones, emails, and walk-in visitors, handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Collaborates on special projects, utilizing project management skills to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Supports managers and departments with calendaring, scheduling, time card support, meeting organization, and travel arrangements.
- Performs general clerical tasks such as filing, processing paperwork, data entry, scanning/photocopying, and similar duties.
- Creates intermediate level reports, including graphs, charts, and pivot tables, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and audience appropriateness.
- Types and designs correspondences, memos, spreadsheets, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, and other documents, proofreading for accuracy and clarity.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- College level coursework in English, Business Administration, and Mathematics required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- 2 years administrative support experience required, preferably in the medical/health-related field.
- Ability to type 40-50 WPM; ability to accurately complete data entry at a high speed, utilizing grammar and spell check software.
- Exceptional knowledge of business English, including proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Intermediate knowledge of mathematics and intermediate level of calculation skills.
- Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required.
- Valid California driver’s license, automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law.
