About the role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Dental Administrative Assistant to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy specialty practice. As a vital part of our team, you will assist the Practice Manager in managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and ensuring smooth office operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Practice Manager in overseeing daily office operations and maintaining a smooth workflow.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications.
- Manage patient billing, insurance verifications, and claims processing, ensuring financial arrangements and collections are handled timely.
- Address and resolve escalated patient concerns to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Support the training and onboarding of administrative staff and provide leadership in the Practice Manager’s absence.
- Monitor office performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and ensure adherence to office protocols.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure patient records are accurate and well-maintained.
- Manage office supplies and vendor relationships as needed.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in an administrative role.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software and patient management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Knowledge of dental insurance verification, billing, and financial processes.
- Strong leadership abilities, including training and mentoring administrative staff.
- A solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality protocols.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas.
- Ability to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods.
- Ability to work around medical equipment and instruments.
- Adherence to OSHA and infection control standards.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
