Farmers Union Industries, LLC (FUI) is a leading agricultural-based manufacturing company headquartered in Redwood Falls, MN. Our operations include Central Bi-Products, Northland Choice, Midwest Grease, Artex Manufacturing, Redwood Farms Meat Processors, and Performance Pet Products. Performance Pet, located in Mitchell, SD, produces an assortment of canned dog and cat foods for brands of all sizes.
About the role
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role supports all areas of the business with our core values of Generosity, Relationships, Integrity, and Teamwork (GRIT).
Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism to promote a positive company image.
- Welcome visitors, organize incoming/outgoing mail, complete general housekeeping, and order, stock, and receive supplies.
- Answer and redirect all incoming calls to the correct department in a polite and professional manner.
- Process orders, track schedules to meet customer expectations, and confirm order receipt with customers. Notify the Sales Manager of any concerns.
- Assist with the production schedule and enter it into Business Central to allow procurement to order necessary materials.
- Plan and coordinate employee meetings/events, including communications, meal coordination, and room preparation.
- Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
- Provide administrative support to team members, managers, corporate staff, or other areas as needed.
- Maintain, organize, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive physical and electronic records; input data into various systems as required.
- Monitor and update the employee scheduling system based on actual operation hours.
- Review timecards and alert management of necessary changes, employee PTO requests, or attendance concerns.
- Assist new and rehires with Form I-9, timeclock enrollment, and onboarding paperwork.
- Adapt to situations requiring temporary or permanent assumption of tasks not specifically outlined in this job description, including working additional hours or accommodating a heavier workload.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business or related field preferred, or comparable education and/or experience.
- Shipping, accounting, or other clerical experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of proficiency, accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn and be proficient in an ERP system, preferably Business Central.
