Administrative Assistant
About the role
The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties to ensure effective and efficient office operations. This role requires a proactive, organized individual with strong attention to detail and clear communication skills. Provides assistance to the Clerk to Council, department management, co-workers, and the general public as required.
Responsibilities
- Greet people at the window.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Process notary applications.
- Schedule meetings and maintain calendars.
- Order office supplies.
- Retrieve and distribute mail.
- Scan documents.
- Print and assemble County Council documents.
- Process invoices for payment.
- File and pull documents.
- Assist with processing FOIA requests.
- Record meetings as needed.
- Assist with maintaining accurate information on the website.
- Perform all other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Requires a vocational/technical diploma in secretarial science, administrative management, or related field supplemented by three to five years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar programs.
- Operates a variety of office equipment.
