About the role

The Administrative Assistant supports the Planning & Development staff, handling administrative tasks and interfacing with customers, particularly those dealing with planning, zoning, and development permitting processes such as building permits, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Planning Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Planning & Development staff
  • Interface with customers to answer questions, direct calls, schedule appointments/inspections, take complaints, and assist with applications
  • Maintain a database and track all active development bonds, including original copies of bond documentation
  • Notify bond holders and financial institutions about annual expiration and renewal requirements for all active bonds
  • Perform general typing and filing
  • Prepare and complete forms
  • Answer telephones and receive customer inquiries

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Windows, Word, Excel, and Access
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment
  • Typing skills (minimum 40 wpm)
