Position Summary

The Payroll Accountant is responsible for payroll processing, general payroll related inquiry management, and other assigned accounting functions as needed. Work is completed in an accurate, detailed, timely, and professional manner in compliance with accounting regulations and department standards. Work is also performed in a cost-effective and service-oriented way as it relates to established organizational standards. Objectives include supportive interaction with program directors, staff, and outside service/product providers.

Objectives/Activities

  • Bi-weekly payroll calculation and submittal
  • Deduction Reconciliations and Benefit Allocation
  • Garnishments, accruals (vacation and sick)
  • Payroll Taxes (Federal and State - CA and NV)
  • Manual Payroll Checks
  • Funding payroll requirements and Positive Pay
  • Communicate with supervisors, staff, and administrators regarding payroll items
  • Process housing allowances, mileage, travel and other reimbursements
  • Prepare and submit Workers Compensation report monthly
  • General Ledger Work with Staff Accountants on Payroll Reclassifications
  • Reconciliations of benefit liabilities and payments
  • Reporting and Support
  • Send Payroll Reports to Program Directors
  • Scan and Document retention/Scanning to Server
  • Timely Assist with Monitoring Visits
  • Work with Program Directors on Timecards, Time Off, Accruals, etc.
  • 990 Data Support
  • Back up to Accounts Payable Accountant
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes and reporting
  • Other Audit Support as Necessary
  • Other Duties as Assigned

EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Five years of combined education and accounting/payroll experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree requirement.

PAY

USD $30.00 - USD $33.00 /Hr.
