Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the administrative supervisor for all departments during evening, night, and weekend shifts, including managing operations for closed departments.
- Serves as a key clinical resource person, providing leadership, guidance, and support for staff development across units.
- Functions as a dedicated patient advocate, challenging potentially harmful care and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Oversees and manages the patient admission process to ensure full alignment with hospital policies.
- Initiates cost-containment measures with a strong focus on optimizing manpower and maintaining safe, adequate staffing levels.
- Facilitates conflict resolution and cohesion between units while handling performance reviews and feedback for assigned staff.
Requirements
- Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut as a Professional Nurse (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or certification in a specialty (Preferred)
- Five years of current acute care nursing experience (Required)
- Demonstrated expertise in med/surg and critical care (Preferred)
- One year of experience in a leadership role (Preferred)

Qualifications
