Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as the administrative supervisor for all departments during evening, night, and weekend shifts, including managing operations for closed departments.
  • Serves as a key clinical resource person, providing leadership, guidance, and support for staff development across units.
  • Functions as a dedicated patient advocate, challenging potentially harmful care and ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Oversees and manages the patient admission process to ensure full alignment with hospital policies.
  • Initiates cost-containment measures with a strong focus on optimizing manpower and maintaining safe, adequate staffing levels.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution and cohesion between units while handling performance reviews and feedback for assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Licensed and currently registered in the State of Connecticut as a Professional Nurse (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or certification in a specialty (Preferred)
  • Five years of current acute care nursing experience (Required)
  • Demonstrated expertise in med/surg and critical care (Preferred)
  • One year of experience in a leadership role (Preferred)

Qualifications
