Admin/Clerical - Insurance Document Associate
About the role
Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee, providing consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning, and business planning. They are looking for a Insurance Document Associate on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is On-site 5 days a week, with hours from 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for officially identifying and acknowledging receipt of all incoming mail, reporting information to the underwriter, verifying required information, and completing associated forms. You will also be responsible for identifying when to raise problems or exceptions to the Team Leader or Manager. Other responsibilities include receiving and slotting mail for distribution, sorting and delivering print-outs, FedEx sorting and distribution, and assisting as needed with Electronic Document Conversion.
- Underwriting, DI Benefit Document & Mail Document Preparation/Classifying (30%): Completing underwriting and/or claims document review and audit, reviewing work for high priority insurance, mail, and/or claim documents, and recognizing and identifying misrouted forms and documents.
- Manual indexing (Exception Processing)/Quality Assurance (QA)/Fax Processing (40%): Analyzing and reviewing underwriting and claims documents and forms images, identifying potential issues/errors, and reviewing underwriting and claims faxes.
- Document Scanning/Support Services/Testing (15%): Accurately and consistently scanning documents, maintaining preventive cleaning on scanners, and detecting scanning errors.
- Miscellaneous Duties (15%): Including maintenance and shipping of documents to the Records Center, opening application, DI Benefits and/or post approval pouch mail, and responding to basic inquiries for rescans and original documents.
Requirements
- High school or equivalency required.
- 1-2 years prior mail handling experience or customer services experience required.
- Strong ability to coordinate and prioritize work under tight time constraints.
- High degree of accuracy; ability to optimally work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic PC proficiency required.
- Ability to work independently within established policy standards and procedures.
- Strong team worker with proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively.
