About the role

This position can be filled as an Administrative Assistant I or II. It involves planning and layout of work details, performing all phases of computer clerical support, creating and maintaining files, reports, and maps, operating standard office equipment, communicating effectively, and maintaining professionalism under stressful conditions. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, general knowledge of clerical work, some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations, good verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in using company computer programs and terminal applications, and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and layout work details.
  • Create and maintain files, records, reports, maps, charts, etc.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism during stressful conditions when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Create and assist with special projects including sensitive and confidential data.
  • Provide support for outage restorations (including out of town) during scheduled and non-scheduled hours as required.
  • Learn company’s policies, procedures, and responsibilities of department to which assigned.
  • Train personnel regarding departmental functions and policies.
  • Use independent decision-making, check the work of others, adhere to established departmental policies.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations.
  • Good analytical skills, so as to provide assistance to his/her supervisor in reviewing any and all documents pertaining to their work group, such as payroll, budget, or any other assigned items.
  • Proficient in use of company computer programs and terminal applications.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Knowledge of company organizational operations to which assigned.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Qualify for vehicle operator’s license.
