About the role
The University of the District of Columbia is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Adjunct Instructors to teach Test Preparedness workshops and/or courses aligned with the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) assessment.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and adjunct appointment letter document.
- Complete all division and University required trainings.
- Select and prepare course materials, including texts and instructional materials.
- Prepare and deliver relevant curriculum to students using a variety of teaching methods such as lecture, class discussion, demonstration labs, and projects.
- Maintain records of enrollment and attendance, assessments, and grades.
- Communicate with students through the institution's learning management system.
- Create an innovative and responsive learning environment while maintaining classroom control.
- Evaluate student course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
- Attend meetings, ceremonies, and official functions as required.
- Discuss course aspects with the Dean, Department Chair/Division Director, and University/WDLL Staff.
- Adhere to University policies and guidelines in all matters concerning academics and student and staff conduct.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in adult teaching and learning, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Teaching and Education with an emphasis in Special Education preferred.
- At least three years of successful prior teaching experience of Adult (Basic Education) curricula and learners.

Pay
Salary range varies depending on assignment; minimum $950 per credit hour.
