Adjunct Professor Lab
Position Overview
Mercy College of Ohio is seeking a dedicated Adjunct Lab Faculty member for its Physician Assistant (PA) Program. This temporary academic position focuses on classroom instruction and creating a supportive, engaging learning environment that fosters critical thinking, professional growth, and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction for assigned PA courses.
- Facilitate a caring and engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, self-direction, and respect for individual differences.
- Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Stay current with developments, trends, and best practices in the discipline.
- Contribute to program evaluation and student assessment processes.
- Uphold and promote Mercy Health’s Mission and Core Values, including compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life, and service.
- Perform additional job-related duties as required, with reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
- Required:
- Graduate degree (Master’s) in Physician Assistant studies or a relevant discipline.
- Current NCCPA Certification (PA-C or PA-C emeritus) and PA license, or license eligible; physicians must hold current licensure and ABMS or AO board certification.
- Experience relevant to the course content and learning objectives.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to integrate classroom technology and adapt teaching to student needs.
- PREFERRED:
- Postgraduate degree (Ph.D.) in a related field.
- Prior teaching experience in PA or medical education.
- Active membership in professional or community organizations.
