Adjunct (Part Time) - Surgical Technology

Responsibilities

• Adhere to College rules and regulations.
• Promptly complete and return mandatory college forms.
• Use WVNCC adjunct email for institutional correspondence.
• Use Northern on the Web for attendance and grades.
• Complete administrative responsibilities including syllabus creation and submission.
• Evaluate students based on course objectives.
• Post syllabi and grades in Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ensure class meets scheduled hours.
• Manage course resources and activities.
• Complete program and course assessment practices.
• Respond to academic appeals.
• Engage with students weekly in online courses.
• Respond to student emails within 48 to 72 hours.
• Post detailed syllabi in the course.
• Submit grades for all gradable items within 1 week.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology, preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program, required.
• Two years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
• Professional credential in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by NCCA.

• Ability to effectively teach and assess student progress.
• Experience in the operating room or as an instructor in surgical technology.
• Effective communication and instructional technology skills.
• Proficiency in using Learning Management System (LMS).
