Adjunct-Medical Information Technology

Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty in Medical Coding. This is a temporary, part-time position used to fill online, hybrid, and in-person courses at the Hazard campus.

About the role

Instructors will prepare and deliver lessons in Medical Coding using the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS). All courses require use of the LMS shell and may be delivered online, hybrid, or in-person.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out instruction, instructional activities, and prepare learning materials (including Open Educational Resources) for course delivery.
• Provide instruction in Medical Coding and related discipline areas.
• Prepare lesson plans, maintain records, and report on student attainment, attendance, and progress.
• Utilize approved online course templates and syllabus format.
• Maintain classroom order and discipline.
• Complete course/program assessments, early alert reports, course evaluations, grading reports, and other related activities.
• Complete required college training, including annual mandatory training, online learning training, quality assurance training, LMS training, and other related training as needed.

Requirements

• AAS degree in Health Information Technology, AA, AS, or AAS in allied health or related field.
• Medical coding certification.
• 2-3 years of experience in the coding field.
