Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis.

About the Role

The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. This is an in-person position.

Pay: $47.35 per contact hour

Responsibilities

Program Operation

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follow syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to college policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submit requested information within established timelines.

Students

  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions or provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.

Instruction

  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
  • In the event of emergency absence, notify program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote the same as an integral part of one's work.

Qualifications

A qualified faculty member in Information Technology Support (ITSP) meets the program standard through one of three routes:

  • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology as appropriate to the program; or
  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
    • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
    • Two years of in-field professional employment
    • Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence including date of award
    • Documentation of research and publication in the field
    • Documented relevant additional information technology coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military; or
  • Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:
    • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
    • Two years of in-field professional employment
    • Documented evidence of teaching excellence in information technology, including date of award
    • Documentation of research and publication in the field
    • Documented relevant information technology coursework in addition to the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.

Candidates must upload a copy of their unofficial transcripts (all available) in order to be considered for faculty roles.
