Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in hybrid formats (in-person and online).
  • Teach courses aligned with industry certifications such as CompTIA and EC-Council.
  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments in accordance with program standards and learning outcomes.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with workforce needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends, certification updates, and instructional best practices.
  • Participate in adjunct faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum four years of additional related experience
  • Valid and current certifications in at least two to three of the following: CompTIA Tech+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+ (preferred), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (preferred)
  • Prior teaching or training experience, preferably in a community college or adult education setting
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in desired area
  • Two-year teaching experience with adult learners
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Blackboard learning management systems
  • Experience in a higher educational environment
  • Exposure to current educational practices for student learning
  • Ability to learn and remain current about Workforce Development
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multi-cultural workplace
