About the role
The visiting assistant professor will teach in the Law School’s legal research and writing (LRW) program, teaching two or three courses in the fall and spring semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 3-credit, upper-level writing course to 2Ls, focusing on appellate brief writing, oral argument, and contract drafting.
- Teach a 2-credit, entry-level research and writing course to 1Ls, introducing legal research and objective legal analysis.
- Teach a 3-credit, research and writing course in the spring semester, covering demand letters, the drafting of pleadings and discovery, and pretrial motion practice.
Requirements
- Possess a J.D. degree with a strong academic record.
- Have exceptional legal research and writing skills.
- Foster student learning, development, and decision making.
- Have two or more years of experience in a clerkship and/or in law practice.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
