Adjunct Faculty - Writing

Job Description

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute has an immediate need for adjunct WR faculty who could teach a course on Writing about Science and Technology in Winter 2026 from January 15 to March 7, 2026. Possible future courses for adjunct teaching may include college writing; medical and biomedical writing; technical and professional communications; rhetoric and visual design; and integrated skills in English for international students.

Qualifications

• Hold a PhD in Professional/Technical Communication, Writing and Rhetoric, or related field.
• Experience working with international students and students whose language is not English is essential.

Requirements

• Submit a cover letter that addresses relevant expertise and experience.
• Submit a current c.v. that includes the names and contact information for three references.
• Submit evidence of teaching experience (syllabi, teaching portfolio, etc.).

Pay

$6,000 per course

Part-time, Winter 2026 from January 15 to March 7, 2026.
