Adjunct Faculty

The University of Houston Law Center offers graduate level courses in Law in multiple specialty areas and occasionally has openings for part-time Adjunct Faculty. Interested and qualified candidates are invited to apply to be considered for these temporary, part-time positions. Please indicate your areas of expertise.

• Opportunities include: (i) traditional doctrinal courses taught in a lecture format; (ii) clinical education, which is a type of experiential learning course; (iii) simulation courses, which is a type of experiential learning course; (iv) involvement with the Law Center’s Blakely Advocacy Institute (http://www.law.uh.edu/blakely), where the opportunities include a variety of skills based courses; and (v) bar preparation and success courses.

Adjuncts may qualify for up to 12 hours of CLE credit for teaching each year through the State Bar of Texas as part-time faculty via an MCLE status change so long as there is teaching in a given year. Adjuncts also receive a full discount for online Texas Bar CLE programs.

Additional Information

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments. Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates. All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check. Individuals conducting research in critical infrastructure areas (i.e., communication infrastructure systems, cybersecurity systems, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment systems, and/or water treatment facilities) are subject to regular review to ensure the security and integrity of the research is maintained.
