Job Duties
- Deliver classroom, lab, and/or hybrid instruction across DT 1, DT 2, and DT 3 competency levels.
- Teach DT 1 foundational skills, including:
- Basic computer knowledge and safe work practices
- Identification of hardware components
- Minor machine troubleshooting
- Diagnosing and resolving basic hardware and performance issues
- Teach DT 2 intermediate skills, including:
- Component testing and hardware upgrades
- Understanding and analyzing hardware performance issues
- Systematic troubleshooting methods for hardware and software failures
- Introduction to fiber, optics, and light-level testing
- Basic networking concepts and practices
- Teach DT 3 advanced skills, including:
- Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems
- Advanced hardware and system troubleshooting
- More complex hardware and networking configurations
- Instruct in leadership skills (minimum of 8 hours)
- Develop and maintain curriculum, lesson plans, labs, and assessments aligned with industry standards
- Emphasize safe practices, proper tool usage, and ethical handling of technology
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate instructional and compliance records
- Support student retention, completion, and workforce readiness
- Collaborate with program leadership, IT staff, and industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance
- Participate in program review, accreditation, grant reporting, and continuous improvement activities

Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Relevant industry and/or instructional experience; level of experience may determine compensation or teaching scope
- Teaching experience in higher education, workforce training, or adult education preferred
- Strong research and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
- Strong computational ability to include mathematic calculations and analyzing statistical data
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
- Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness
- Positive attitude
- Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision
- Regular, prompt & reliable attendance
Physical Demands
- Normal Office Light work (lift 10 lbs.)
- Frequent sitting for extended periods of time
- Use of hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment
