Summary Of Responsibilities
Plans, prepares and follows an approved course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught.
Prepares instructional materials, evaluates instruction and learning by means of written, oral, practical, and performance tests.
Maintains a student-oriented approach to teaching.
SUBMITS student grades and all requested departmental materials in a timely manner.
ATTENDS mandatory adjunct meetings.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- A high school diploma with teaching and/or professional experience in modern dance.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BS, BA, and teaching experience, or an MFA and graduate teaching experience.
- Evidence of teaching excellence and expertise in Modern technique and theory, Composition, and improvisation.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of subject matter and course content of courses taught in Modern Technique and Theory.
- Knowledge of best practices in instructional strategies and techniques.
- Knowledge of current trends in education.
- Skill in choreography and performance.
- Effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
