Description Of Key Responsibilities

• Prepare for and teach courses for English Language Learners as assigned and in accordance with curricular guidelines.
• Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
• Maintain and submit records of student attendance in accordance with program requirements.
• Maintain and submit course syllabi and lesson plans in accordance with program requirements.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Meet with students, as appropriate.
• Participate in orientation and placement testing, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to effectively adapt ELI course materials to serve students of various levels of English language proficiency.
• Ability to effectively teach multilingual students in a variety of subjects (Reading & Vocabulary, Writing & Grammar, Listening and Speaking, or Cultural Topics).
• A demonstrated ability to work with multilingual students from varying backgrounds and the ability to exercise the proper balance of persistence and patience as individually appropriate.
• Ability to consistently demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a staff where teamwork and cooperation are important.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use computer-based systems, including word-processing, Google docs, Microsoft excel.
