Position Summary
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the approved discipline
- Providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses
- Mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom
- Creating and maintaining an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction
- Engaging in instructional preparation
- Providing timely feedback to students and responding to student communications in a timely manner
- Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
- Maintaining ethical and professional behavior
- Being available to students by appointment
- Attending adjunct faculty meetings
- Assessing courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Completing any required training
- Other related duties, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses
- Provide instruction that achieves the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources
- Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College
