Adjunct In-Person Psychology Professor

Grayson College is located in the heart of Grayson County and provides a vital link for higher education. The college serves approximately 5,000 students annually, offering small classes for personalized instruction, affordable tuition, and flexible scheduling including day, evening, or online classes.

About the role

This in-person adjunct position is responsible for instructing lecture classes in Psychology, ensuring students reach learning outcomes while adhering to Grayson College’s academic standards. Teaching locations may include dual credit high school, South Campus, or Main Campus classrooms.

Salary: $700 per credit hour.

Responsibilities

• Teaches no more than 9 credit hours per semester (75% of duties).
• Works as a team member in the Social Sciences Department, complying with all faculty responsibilities outlined in college policies and procedures (10%).
• Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements (10%).
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean, or Department Chair (5%).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher with 18 hours of graduate courses in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• Previous successful experience teaching Psychology at the university or community college level; professional experience may be considered equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and a proven commitment to student success.
• Collegial attitude with the college community and external entities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans.
• Excellent computer and multimedia skills.
