Adjunct Faculty position for VISU 350: Art and Design Process II. This course guides students in refining their self-directed line of inquiry within the Visual Studies major, including defining goals, outcomes, and context for their studio or design practice. Students will enhance their web presence, resume, and portfolio to reflect professional practice, engage in pre-production planning or begin thesis production, and present a self-evaluation at the semester’s end.
Responsibilities
- Teach VISU 350 - Art and Design Process II.
- Guide students in refining their self-directed line of inquiry, including goals, outcomes, and context for their studio or design practice.
- Assist students in developing their web presence, resume, and portfolio to reflect professional practice.
- Support students in pre-production planning and/or beginning production on their thesis.
- Facilitate student self-evaluations at the end of the semester.
Requirements
- Master’s degree demonstrating expertise appropriate for teaching the course, or a 4-year professional degree (BFA) in art or design with equivalent expertise, training, and experience, plus a record of professional creative achievement.
- Professional portfolio showcasing skills and experience in the curricular area.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Qualifications
- Preferred: MFA degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
- Preferred: College-level teaching experience.
- Preferred: Significant professional creative practice.
