Adjunct Faculty, Art and Design Foundations

About the Role

The adjunct faculty members of Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. Faculty are committed to facilitating learning throughout the college's communities and engage in scholarly endeavors and service activities to support student success. Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
• Develop and submit course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans aligned with approved objectives.
• Maintain accurate course records and complete required forms.
• Hold office hours and provide student consultation.
• Assist with advising, orientation, registration, and student recruitment.
• Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise and learning.
• Participate in service activities, including campus committees, assessment, program review, and mentoring peers.
• Represent the college professionally in the community and district.
• Engage in required professional development for credentialing.
• Adhere to college policies, including timely submission of grades.
• May supervise student employees.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in the specific field for the position or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., business, finance, management, or marketing for business roles).
• Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience; higher education teaching preferred.
• Two years of teaching experience with knowledge of pedagogy.
• Strong background in computers and technology, organizational skills, and general office skills (e.g., filing, typing, customer service).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and research effectively.
• Commitment to working effectively with diverse students, employees, and community members.
• Must perform assigned duties within the State of Colorado and accurately report work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Special Conditions & Working Conditions

• Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (if applicable).
• Adherence to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College.
• May require travel and evening/weekend hours.
• Primarily sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, driving, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent use of computers, office equipment, and finger movements.
• Constant written and oral communication, with occasional analytical and calculation tasks.
