Responsibilities
- Teach courses to meet course objectives.
- Facilitate clear formulation of learning objectives/outcomes through thorough course planning and preparation for individual classroom, laboratory, and clinical sessions.
- Communicate effectively with students and challenge them to pursue learning beyond the basic requirements.
- Implement courses using a variety of instructional methods to create an engaging learning environment.
- Assess student learning systematically and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
- Revise courses as necessary to enhance their effectiveness.
Requirements
- Completion of terminal degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution, with a minimum of 18 semester hours in content-specific related fields; master’s and/or doctoral degrees preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the relevant field, with one or more years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
- Where applicable, hold necessary licenses and national certifications.
Skills
- Ability to provide academic instruction, read, analyze, interpret, and grade academic assignments in a higher educational environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard office applications.
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles.
- Skill in the effective use of resources, including time, information, and available services.
- Knowledge and support of the College mission statement and its values.
