Adjunct Faculty - Regulations of Cannabis Cultivation (GRADE)

Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) in Canandaigua, NY seeks an adjunct instructor for the fall 2027 term to teach HRT 135 – Regulation of Cannabis Cultivation. This course covers the legal framework governing Cannabis production in New York State, including compliance, best practices, and historical context.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction on state and federal Cannabis cultivation laws.
• Teach best management practices for legal compliance in Cannabis operations from seed to product.
• Create assignments and assessments evaluating students’ understanding of Cannabis laws and regulations.
• Guide discussions on the historical context of Cannabis regulation and recent rescheduling developments.
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving Cannabis reporting and industry standards.
• Collaborate with department faculty to align curriculum with industry needs.

Requirements

• Current or former compliance auditor/officer for the NYS Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) or compliance auditor/officer for a NYS-licensed Cannabis cultivator, processor, or dispensary.
• Operational experience managing compliance workflows across cultivation, processing, testing, distribution, and dispensary operations.
• Hands-on experience crafting and implementing best management practices (BMPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processing, extraction, and seed-to-sale tracking.

Preferred Qualifications

• JD or MBA with two or more years of experience in Cannabis law and regulations, or equivalent experience as a chief financial officer (CFO) of a Cannabis-related business.

Pay

Adjunct rate of pay for the 2026–2027 academic year is $1,087 per contact hour.
