About the role

The Science and Technology Department at Finger Lakes Community College seeks innovative and adaptable educators committed to student engagement, excellence in teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Courses may include, but are not limited to: BIO 121 – General Biology I, BIO 230 – Microbiology. Full course descriptions can be found here. This position is part of an ongoing recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the current subject area.
  • Implements course outcomes based on the master syllabus.
  • Prepares and distributes an updated course outline specific to the sections taught.
  • Prepares and creates lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities for students.
  • Teaches courses and evaluates student performance.
  • Maintains accurate student records.
  • SUBMIT pertinent data to the department and/or the College.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field of science; or Baccalaureate in related field of science with a Master's in Education plus relevant experience or certification(s); or Master's degree plus significant related job experience.

Pay

Adjunct rate of pay for the 2026-2027 Academic Year is $1,087 per contact hour.
