This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position. Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
About the Role
Teaches a variety of courses including Recording Theory, Digital Recording, Location Recording, Recording Labs, and other department classes as assigned.
- Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
- Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines
- Available to students for coaching
- Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College relative to teaching duties and training and development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Recording Arts related field
- Minimum of 2 years full-time audio industry experience (studio, live sound, music business)
- Demonstrated ability with current digital software applications for Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems
- Demonstrated experience in current Pro Tools for Windows and Macintosh
- Ability to certify as licensed Avid Pro Tools Instructor
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Appropriately responds to the needs of the community
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years full-time audio industry experience (studio, live sound, music business)
- 5 years college-level teaching experience in professional audio industry related subjects
- 5 years’ experience in setup, construction, operation, and maintenance of PC or Macintosh digital audio workstations
Pay
$942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU)
Schedule
To be determined based on business unit needs. Classes may be offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Availability should be indicated when applying for this position.
